New supervisors need training or experience!
Oftentimes a good employee is rewarded with a promotion to supervisor. But without adequate training, that employee can be thrown into a situation that he or she can’t handle. And it can result in unanticipated problems in the department. If the company doesn’t have a training department or the ability to give supervisor training, consideration should be made to send this person to classes or a seminar. Otherwise, hiring someone with supervisor experience may be a better answer.
