Has the use of company property become a crisis?
Personal use of company computers has presented a major dilemma for large and small companies alike. Company policies for the personal use of company computers must be clearly defined in the employee handbook. Particular attention must be paid to Internet “research” that an employee is doing relating to his or her job and what is authorized. Personal use of company telephone lines must be clearly defined as well. And these policies must be enforced before any problems get out of control.
