Retaining new employees starts with a proper orientation!
It’s pretty obvious that new hires need to be introduced to the work environment and trained in the job. But many companies are so busy that they don’t give enough priority to a proper orientation and integration into the organization. Or the company may feel it is too expensive to spend much time with a new employee that might not last very long. It is important to create a strategy and guidelines to give the best chance that every new hire will be successful and productive.
